Maureen Harding is a quilt artist creating vibrant, inspiring and sometimes playful works.
Her works are quilted using canvas, cotton, batik, kente and mudcloth. Her work has been sought after
by collectors at art shows throughout the Carolinas. Maureen’s quilts have become part of collections in New York,
Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Montgomery and Houston.
Maureen was born in the country of Trinidad and Tobago which is in the West Indies.
As part of her family tradition she and her siblings were all taught to sew by her mother.
Even her brothers had to learn to sew.
In 2003 Maureen rediscovered her creative passion and began her journey as an
art quilter. In short, life reminded her that she loved to sew and create with fabric.
Maureen is a self-taught, free form, quilt artist who has been creating art quilts for over 10 years.
She has studied with Master Quilter Marilyn Doheny in Tryon NC.
